Xanga is annoying. Cups is cold. Leo Tolstoy is long-winded and KC's drink tastes better than mine. My shift managers at Starbucks are at odds with each other and I feel like the child between divorcing parents. Yet in spite of all the drama (if you can even call it drama) life is good. I'm not sure why. But it is.

I knew I should have gotten the oreo frappe.

Listening to my roomate read her poetry outloud caused me to realize that it had been a while since I had produced some of my own material. My problem is that I have very little to write about that would be interesting to the average person. Except...
I started working at Starbuck's a few days ago and already I'm becoming aware of a new culture. I'm experiencing the realm of those who like coffee...and are willing to spend six dollars for one cup. It has been reported that one frequent customer at our franchise has spent approximately $16,000 on macchiatos in one year alone. Why anyone would opt out of buying a car instead is beyond me. My first day behind the cash register and I encountered a gothic rock band called "Terra De Nada" ("the world is nothing" for you non-Spanish speakers) consisting of about five members all dressed in black, a few of them wearing dreadlocks, and most of them sporting a metal rod going through their noses (mind you, it was a rod per nose. Not one giat rod that they shared). I tried my best to appear comfortable in their presence and all went well up to the point that I was ringing up the final member and said "Thanks for coming to Starbucks, here's your chain" (I meant "change" but, you know, things like that can happen). Equally funny is the family that came in prior to this group who, no doubt, had never been to Starbucks a day in their life. My guess is that they were on a road trip and were either heading back to or coming from a land where Starbucks had not yet explored. This notion first came to me when the dad ordered a "frapola". And this all happened on the first day.

I'm baaaaaaack!

God is so good. If I purposed to sit down and chronicle all the good things that God has done for me just within the last week, it would be a futile task. I attribute that partly to my forgetfulness but largely towards His incessant benevolence that shows itself repeatedly and at the most unexpected moments. Add in the fact that I am unworthy of all this goodness and you have a feeling that overwhelms and yet gives peace. Can I get an 'amen'?!

Hey everyone! I did not drop off the face of the earth. You should watch the video up there, it cracks me up.  At least it did when I last watched it...which was really late at night.  Love you people!

Wow. I am way over due for a xanga entry.

What's wrong with my computer.  Is there some sort of virus lurking in the hard drive? My computer could possibly blow up at any minute.  It's a miracle I've managed to get this far.  The wretched internet keeps shutting down and my desktop icons randomly dissapear (including the start button at the bottom).  And what's all this about my security settings prohibiting ActiveX controls?! What the heck are ActiveX controls?! Do I really care?! No! I don't think so.  I'm at the moment somewhat bored and Ithink that's why I'm allowing myself to get riled up over such a relatively small thing.  However, I realize this uneventful time is simply the lull before the storm.  I should savor it, appreciate it because of its brevity and remind myself that soon I will be only dreaming of times like these.  There's no better way to observe a quiet Saturday, though.  I'm sitting at my computer with my amazing roomate Lydia Goeglein only a few feet away and we are listening to Andre Bocelli.  I am so blessed.  And I am grateful.  I could never thank God enough for His goodness, nor be deserving of it.  Ah, life.
